What the documentation does not say

It is not the same as --safe-mode. Bare mode also narrows the toolset to Bash, file read, and file edit, so it is a lean runtime for scripts, not a diagnostic. Skills in a directory passed with --add-dir still load, and the mode sets CLAUDE_CODE_SIMPLE.
