Claude Tag now supports personal connectors in channelsClaude Blog · Original published September 24, 2026
Claude Tag, in beta, puts Claude into a Slack channel as a shared assistant. The change lets one member ask Claude to read their calendar, drive, or other connected tool from inside that channel, without giving the rest of the channel access to it.
What changes in a channel
When a request needs one of your connectors, Claude asks the first time and then uses it in that thread. Nobody else in the channel can use your connectors.
You choose how the answer reaches the channel. You can review each response before it posts, or use auto mode, where Claude posts on its own unless it decides the content needs your review. Anthropic says Enterprise administrators will be able to require review for everyone.
What stays with the channel
Personal connectors do not run unattended. Scheduled routines, and anything Claude starts on its own, still use the connectors an administrator attached to the channel.
According to Anthropic, actions taken through your connector appear in that tool's log under your account. The channel's own work stays under its service account.
A new limit on Slack search
The Claude Code 2.1.283 release notes list a related Claude Tag setting for administrators. It limits Claude's Slack search to public channels Claude has been added to, and it can be set per organization, workspace, or channel.

ChatGPT plugins can now run as sidebar apps and react to events from connected tools
OpenAI opened the interface layer it uses for its own ChatGPT features to outside developers. A plugin can now claim a place in the sidebar, open a panel beside a conversation, and act as the viewer for its own file types. A separate MCP Events integration lets a plugin start an automation when something happens in a connected app, which requires MCP 2.0 and webhook delivery. Sign in with ChatGPT lets a Plus or Pro allowance be spent in 16 partner tools.
