Amazon's Selling Partner plugin connects seller accounts to Claude, in beta for US sellers only

On September 23, 2026, Amazon introduced a Selling Partner plugin that connects a seller's account to Amazon Quick and, in beta, to Anthropic's Claude. The AI tool can read sales and inventory data and take actions such as price changes once the seller approves them. The beta covers only sellers in Amazon's US stores.

The Selling Partner plugin lets a third-party AI tool work with a seller's account the way Seller Assistant already does inside Seller Central. It launched first in Amazon Quick, Amazon's assistant for office work, and in beta in Claude. Amazon says this is the first time Seller Assistant's reasoning, recommendations, and actions are available outside Seller Central.

What the plugin can reach

According to Amazon, the plugin connects listing contributions, real-time performance metrics, inventory levels, and sales analytics to the seller's chosen AI agent. The agent does not only read that data. It can act on the account the same way Seller Assistant does in Seller Central. Amazon says every plugin interaction has limits on what it can access, requires human approval for actions, and leaves a complete audit trail.

The Claude version is a beta for sellers in Amazon's US stores, and international expansion is still to come. Amazon says a seller can connect it in roughly 60 seconds without writing code. The company also says integrations with more AI tools will follow.

Workflows that run without the seller

The same announcement adds Seller Assistant workflows, automations that keep running while the seller is not logged in to Seller Central. A seller describes the task in plain language and sets limits, for example an alert when one of the top products falls below a 4-star rating. Prebuilt templates monitor account health, summarize orders, analyze pricing trends, and look for product expansion opportunities. For each workflow, the seller decides whether it only recommends or also acts, and actions are reviewed and approved before they run.

Seller Assistant also gains persistent memory of each seller's pricing patterns, inventory cycles, and growth goals. Amazon says that memory follows the seller into Amazon Quick and Claude.

A free year of Quick Plus

Every primary account holder worldwide can sign up for a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription through December 31, 2026. Each can also name two co-workers who get a free year as well. The announcement does not state the regular price of Quick Plus.

Where the data ends up

Amazon says Seller Assistant keeps seller data within Amazon's infrastructure and that external connections do not change how that data is protected. Eric Burns, Anthropic's field CTO, is quoted in the announcement saying the plugin brings these insights into the seller's Claude account, next to accounting and supplier data. This suggests that data reaching Claude is governed by the seller's Claude account settings rather than Amazon's rules, and the announcement does not address that point.

The same SSRF bug turned up in MCP servers at Google, JPMorgan, and two governments

An independent researcher reported one class of server-side request forgery to five organizations that share no code, and all five confirmed and fixed it. Google's MCP Toolbox for Databases carried a high-severity CVE until version 1.5.0. Five US federal servers are still open. If you run an MCP server with any tool that fetches a web address, the four checks at the end apply to you.

Meta open-sources Muse Gadgets, which lets its Muse agent run shell commands on a Raspberry Pi

Meta published the Muse Gadgets repository on October 2, 2026, under the Apache 2.0 license. It contains firmware for ESP32 boards and a Linux device SDK that turns a Raspberry Pi into a device its Muse agent can operate. On Linux, Muse runs shell commands with the permissions of the account you install it for, including sudo if that account has it. Meta's documentation says pairing has no manufacturer verification and cannot prevent an active man-in-the-middle attack.

ChatGPT plugins can now run as sidebar apps and react to events from connected tools

OpenAI opened the interface layer it uses for its own ChatGPT features to outside developers. A plugin can now claim a place in the sidebar, open a panel beside a conversation, and act as the viewer for its own file types. A separate MCP Events integration lets a plugin start an automation when something happens in a connected app, which requires MCP 2.0 and webhook delivery. Sign in with ChatGPT lets a Plus or Pro allowance be spent in 16 partner tools.
