Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash extends a shot to forty seconds and drafts it in 360p first
Google's video model can now continue an existing clip in ten-second steps up to forty seconds total, reading up to ten seconds of prior footage instead of only the final second. A 360p draft mode runs up to 60 percent faster at a third of the cost, and finished work upscales to 1080p or 4K.

Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash lets you build with more controlGoogle: The Keyword, AI · Original published August 27, 2026
Google released Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash on August 27, a set of creative controls for generative video aimed at developers rather than at people making one clip at a time. The theme running through all of them is iteration: draft cheaply, keep continuity across cuts, and pay for resolution only once the shot is right.
Continuity is the substantive change
Scene extension continues an existing video from where it stopped. What is new is how much the model looks back: Omni 1.1 analyses up to ten seconds of prior context, where earlier models referenced only the final second. Clips extend in ten-second increments to a cumulative length of forty seconds.
Alongside it, first and last frame specification generates the footage between two keyframes, which is what makes orbits, dolly-zooms and seamless loops reproducible rather than lucky. Multimodal input now accepts up to three seconds of video as a reference, so a character or a movement can be carried from one shot into another.
Draft cheap, finish expensive
A 360p draft mode generates previews up to 60 percent faster and at a third of the cost of the model's standard 720p. Google footnotes the speed claim as system throughput of 360p against 720p, not a wall-clock guarantee. Finished output upscales to 1080p or 4K.
Google published a pricing table as an image rather than as text on the announcement page, so the per-second and per-token figures are not quoted here. Anyone budgeting a pipeline should read the pricing page directly.
Where it is available
The model is reachable through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform API for businesses. Beyond developers, Omni 1.1 is available in Google Flow to all Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers globally from the day of the announcement, and scene extension alone is in the Gemini app for those same tiers.
Runway, which builds its own video tools on multiple models, is quoted in the announcement describing Omni Flash as another way for its users to move between ideas, which is a fair description of where a model like this sits: inside somebody else's editor more often than on its own.

ChatGPT adds virtual try-on for clothes and keeps your reference photo for later
OpenAI added two shopping features to ChatGPT on October 1, 2026. A Try on button on listings for clothes and accessories generates an image of the item on you from a selfie. The selfie is saved as a reference photo for future try-ons until you change or delete it in settings. A second feature, Favorites, saves products to your ChatGPT Library.

Gemini 3.8 Live can now answer as a talking video avatar, and Google bills the video only while it speaks
Google made Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar generally available in Gemini Enterprise on September 24, 2026, with US and EU endpoints. The model replies through a lip-synced video character while it listens, watches a camera or a shared screen, and calls tools in the background. Avatar video costs $1 per million tokens at 6,192 tokens for each second of speech. By our arithmetic, that comes to about $0.37 per spoken minute before audio, input, and context charges.
