A mock ChatGPT conversation on a light background: the prompt I want to build a bike is answered with an interactive diagram of a bicycle on a pink card with a slider, and a second prompt, Explain offside, opens a football pitch diagram; to the right, the words GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in bold black type.

ChatGPT moves every tier to GPT-6 and starts answering with interactive charts, forms, and tools

OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 with a feature called Intelligent UI to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise on October 7, 2026, and extends it to the Free and Go tiers from October 8, 2026. Instead of a block of text, a response can now contain tappable buttons, forms, charts, and small interactive tools that the model composes while it writes. Paid tiers run on GPT-6 Sol and free tiers on GPT-6 Luna; the models behind Work and Codex do not change.

ChatGPT adds virtual try-on for clothes and keeps your reference photo for later

OpenAI added two shopping features to ChatGPT on October 1, 2026. A Try on button on listings for clothes and accessories generates an image of the item on you from a selfie. The selfie is saved as a reference photo for future try-ons until you change or delete it in settings. A second feature, Favorites, saves products to your ChatGPT Library.

ChatGPT gets Space, Pages, and shared team tasks on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans

At DevDay on September 29, 2026, OpenAI added a document layer to ChatGPT. Space is a shared workspace for a team, ChatGPT, and the user's dot. Pages is a document type that agents and people edit together. Collaborative slides follow in the coming weeks, with export to PowerPoint and Google Slides. All three are limited to Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. Business and Enterprise also get teams with scheduled tasks and an @ChatGPT mention in Slack and Microsoft Teams.

ChatGPT plugins can now run as sidebar apps and react to events from connected tools

OpenAI opened the interface layer it uses for its own ChatGPT features to outside developers. A plugin can now claim a place in the sidebar, open a panel beside a conversation, and act as the viewer for its own file types. A separate MCP Events integration lets a plugin start an automation when something happens in a connected app, which requires MCP 2.0 and webhook delivery. Sign in with ChatGPT lets a Plus or Pro allowance be spent in 16 partner tools.

ChatGPT for Healthcare now connects to Epic records and nine official public health sources

OpenAI announced an Epic integration and a Healthcare Public Data plugin for ChatGPT for Healthcare on September 1, 2026. A clinician can bring authorized patient context into ChatGPT instead of reading across notes, labs, medications and specialist documentation. The EHR integration is not available to individual accounts. Every accuracy figure in the announcement comes from an evaluation OpenAI itself organized.

Simon Willison counted what ChatGPT Work actually has: 223 tools, 44 skills, open internet access

Willison reports that OpenAI announced ChatGPT Work on July 9, 2026 and has been changing it since, without documenting what the agent can do. He spent weeks testing it, then had the product describe itself: 223 registered tools and 44 skills, six of the tools his own. The inventory shows a code sandbox with open internet access, a full headless Chrome, and a filesystem shared across sessions.

ChatGPT search switched en masse to the site: operator

On August 20, Simon Willison relayed a measurement from Promptwatch showing that ChatGPT abruptly began narrowing its searches to preselected domains. The share of queries carrying the site: operator held between 0.3% and 0.5% for weeks, then jumped to 16% to 17% on August 8 — two days after OpenAI announced accuracy fixes in GPT-5.6. Willison concludes that the search tool internally has the shape search(query, recency, domains), which means the model picks domains before it even frames the question. If you care about visibility in that search, you are no longer competing only for a place in the result but for your domain to make the list the model assembles on its own.
